i found out the other day that "hot yoga" is another term for Bikram yoga. any establishment you see called "Hot Yoga" is going to be a Bikram studio. why is it hot? the room is heated to at least 90 degrees F and sometimes even hotter. this makes you more limber. people wear super skimpy outfits and get all sweaty. you can't use a traditional rubber mat because you slide all over it.
one time, i was doing hatha yoga at a YMCA, and they didn't overhead the room, but there were so many people in there that it got what it felt to be about 90. the room didn't have any ventilation and so first it got really steamy. then, all the sweat in the air condensed onto the ceiling and start to drip on us. ew.
